Agate grey, also known as RAL 7038, is a subtle light grey finish that can be selected for our wooden windows and doors. It has a slightly warm undertone with a tint of green and brings a trendy, almost industrial design that is an increasingly popular choice with homeowners for new-builds and traditional property renovations alike.

Which Colours does Agate Grey Go with?

Thanks to its neutral tone, the shade can work particularly well with white and cream colours to create bright, welcoming interiors.

When it comes to house exteriors, the colour blends with natural stone materials and can provide a nice contrast to bright red brick.

Earthy façade tones, natural wooden front doors, and pastel green shades are further options that can be ideally combined with agate grey windows for a harmonious final look.

Choose Your Timber Type

The agate finish can be applied to wooden windows, which are available in six different timber types. These are pine, spruce, meranti, eucalyptus, oak, and larch. Each option has different wood grain patterns. For larch these are close fine lines, for example, whereas for pine the grain is softer. The patterns that show will therefore differ depending on the type of wood chosen. Beyond the pattern, some timbers like oak are also more expensive than more basic models like spruce. When cared for, all types will durably last for years to come.

Add Complementary Accessories

  • Considering the tones that agate grey goes well with, we offer various home add-ons that can be customised to perfect the look of new windows.

Protective Roller Shutters

Particularly popular in Germany and central Europe, roller shutters feature boxes that are installed on masonry above a window or doors or that are rather concealed within the reveal. The box contains a blind/curtain sheet made from uPVC or aluminium that descends along guide rails.

The shutters are excellent at shading interiors from the sun, adding an extra layer of break-in protection, and for darkening rooms by the desired extent for sleeping. The different parts of the shutter can be coloured in complementary light grey, anthracite, or green tones, for example, and so blend well with an agate window.

Functional & Stylish Window Sills

Alongside roller shutters, we also offer external and internal window sills. In terms of external sills, these help water to drain and can also be customised in a wide range of complementary colours. Silver, White RAL (9016), and Concrete Grey (RAL 7023) are often ordered and combined with grey wooden frames, for example. When it comes to interior sills, these are low-maintenance products that provide excellent ledges for plants and decorations alike.

A range of options like Cream White or Marble Bianco beautifully blend with and add an accent to grey windows and doors.

Enhance Functional Performance & Style with Tailored Glass

  • Because glass takes up a large proportion of a window’s surface area, its quality and design influence the product’s final performance and look.
  • To meet different customers' requirements and preferences we therefore offer the following options:

Specially designed insulating glass is ideal to save on utility bills, keep interiors at a comfortable temperature year-round, reduce carbon footprint, and obtain passive house energy efficiency certificates.

Although our standard double glazing with two panes provides good thermal insulation, triple glazing with its additional third pane better reduces energy loss through the panel via conduction.

To maximise exterior break-in protection and increase safety for people inside who may slip or fall in an accident, security & safety glass can also be selected. Manufactured via technical processes like tempering or lamination, the panel is particularly thick and impact-resistant, which makes it harder to break. If the glass is broken though under very high force, the pieces then don’t shatter out in sharp shards. Rather, they are held on intact foil beneath or form safer blunt crumbs.

To blur the view in for on-lookers and increase privacy, our products can also feature ornamental glass finishes, such as frosted Chinchilla or Satinato. Beyond frosting, textured variants with a pattern like Cathedral Small are then also available, which adds charming character and can also match the look of front doors. For further traditional style, we then also supply various glazing bars that come in a colour matching the tone selected for the frame. The exact number of bars and their placement on the panel can also be individually set in our user-friendly configurator.
