With its stylish yet subtle mid green-grey tone, an Olive Grey (RAL 7002) finish creates a trendy look that adds charming character. While the coating has windows and doors blend very well with traditional stone masonry and be ideal for a country cottage home, the shade can also have products work well with white modern plaster property exteriors to add contrast.

Choose Your Timber Type & Profile

The final look of a wooden Olive Grey (RAL 7002) window will depend on certain selections made upon purchase.

  • An example is the frame’s timber type. At windows24.com, we offer six options: pine, spruce, meranti, eucalyptus, oak, and larch. Where larch adds to the product’s price and means that fine grain lines and textures show through the colour finish, pine, on the other hand, won’t add a surcharge and rather results in a softer grain.

  • Beyond the timber type, windows can come with different profiles. This refers to their exact construction. We supply four different options here; where a Rustic IV 78 profile is ideal for 78 mm construction depths and features a more jagged interior edge, for example, the Classic IV 68 is best for 68 mm construction depths and offers curved ledges for a rounder casement design.

Whatever option you select, the custom colour is applied as an acrylic during manufacturing via professional processes. This ensures a high-quality look and a durable vibrance that lasts for years.

How Does Timber Compare to Other Frame Materials?

  • At windows24.com we supply five different frame materials – uPVC, uPVC-aluminium, wood-aluminium, wood, and aluminium.
  • No one material is necessarily better than another, rather the “best” choice will depend on your project’s unique requirements

In terms of timber, this material is excellently sturdy and provides natural soundproofing due to its density. The option also comes with the largest colour palette, including Olive Grey (RAL 7002), and provides traditional grain patterns that add character, cosiness, and charm.

Compared to modern uPVC windows though, timber tends to be more expensive and require a higher level of upkeep. Wooden surfaces are usually not so insulating or as easy to clean when compared to uPVC windows but, when properly cared for, they are very durable and stand the test of time.

For increased security and better weather protection over the years, aluminium or our externally clad double material combinations are then often a preferred choice.

Add a Complementary Roller Shutter

To complete the design, add sun protection to your home as well as an extra layer of security, and to help to darken rooms by the desired extent for sleeping, our windows can be equipped with innovative German roller shutters. These shutters feature a box installed on masonry above the window or door or rather concealed within their reveal. A curtain blind is stored inside the box and descends along guide rails when operated.

Importantly for design, the different parts of the shutter can be finished in selected shades. A dark Moss Green (RAL 6005) tone could beautifully offset an Olive Green (RAL 7002) window, for example, while a Traffic White (RAL 9016) would add a smart contrast for a contemporary look.
