How Are RAL Colours Applied?
At windows24.com RAL colours can be selected in our online configurator upon order. The selected tone is then applied to door or window frames during manufacturing using professional processes to ensure a particularly durable and high-quality finish. The exact coating methods used then differs depending on the material the product is made from.
uPVC windows, made from a modern, innovative material and featuring multiple internal chambers, have a selected RAL colour applied under high temperatures in a foiling process. This ensures secure bonding to the smooth surfaces and results in long-lasting, stylish tones.
The colour for aluminium windows or the external aluminium cladding of composite uPVC-alu or wood-alu windows, on the other hand, is applied via powder-coating. In this process the aluminium is first anodised to prevent it from oxidising before the powder coat spray technique is used to expertly add the selected colour. This technique will also offer lasting vibrance as well as excellent UV and scratch resistance.
When it comes to timber windows, alongside the different timbers to choose from and water-based varnishes available, the many RAL colours are then applied from the colour chart as a weather-resistant water-based paint or solvent with an acrylic base.
