With their modern core and traditional timber-replica appearance, wood grain uPVC windows and doors provide contemporary energy-saving performance without compromising on charming character. Suitable for both lights and dark façades, the natural-looking frames are a must-have for new-builds and renovations alike.
To supply custom products that fit specific project requirements and style preferences, our uPVC windows and French doors are available in a wide variety of different wood-replica finishes.
For both our aluplast and Kömmerling window profiles a warm Golden Oak can be selected, for example, or rather a darker Walnut, redder Mahogany, or a Bog Oak with its finer grain pattern. Beyond this, a white or beige wood-texture can also be chosen, which goes particularly well with lighter coloured properties and adds traditional charm.
In addition to the above options, our aluplast window models can also come with a selection of particularly innovative decors. Referred to as woodec, these are market-leading coatings that are highly authentic and make the uPVC window truly look like it is made of wood, both in terms of appearance and texture.
In the woodec range, there are four available options: a mid-tone Turner Oak Malt, a lighter Sheffield Oak Alpine finish, the grey colour Sheffield Oak Concrete, and a rich Turner Oak Toffee. The different shades here mean that windows and French doors can blend beautifully with existing architecture or design plans and suit a wide variety of different properties.
Deciding to opt for a woodgrain uPVC window rather than a true wooden window frame and sash can be a good solution to meet specific functional requirements.
uPVC windows tend to be more affordable than wooden ones, for example. Their surfaces are also lower maintenance and easier to clean. Beyond these advantages, uPVC windows also tend to be more insulating, which can lead to higher energy bill savings and passive house building certificates. This excellent thermal efficiency is thanks to multiple air-trapping chambers in the material’s core, which reduce energy loss via conduction. With a quality wood-replica decor, a uPVC frame and sash can therefore provide these modern advantages while also achieving a cosy, traditional timber look.
If you are after extra sturdiness, natural soundproofing, a truly authentic style and are fine with good standard insulation though, then real wooden windows may a better choice than a replica decor on uPVC. To discuss or browse the options further, just head to our configurator or contact our customer team, who are on hand to help and offer one-on-one consultations.
To complete the look, we also offer various add-ons for windows. Alongside matching glazing bars or roller shutters, internal and external sills can beautifully blend with wood grain windows, for example.
In terms of internal sills, these can also come with timber decors like Rustic Oak or Acacia or rather a contrasting option like light Marble Bianco or a dark Betolit could be chosen to add an accent.
While internal sills form a useful ledge to store or display small items, our external sills serve more of a functional purpose by helping water to drain. Just like internal sills though, they too can contribute to design and are available in a range of colours like Silver, a White (RAL 9016), and many more.
