The panel is visually separated from the main window or door by a structurally supportive transom bar. The glazing can be classified as “laminated safety glass”, for example, if additional PVB foil interlayers are added between panes. The foil increases the glazing’s impact resistance and will hold glass in place, preventing it from shattering out, if it should break under very high force.
