With one operable sash attached to a frame, single sash windows are our standard product. Simple yet elegant, they provide excellent security, come with user-friendly openings, and are highly customisable. From made-to-measure dimensions, to a range of shapes, glass types, colour finishes, and more, you can explore further by reading on or heading to our configurator to place an order today.
Configure nowNot to be confused with a Georgian or single hung product, at windows24.com, the term “single sash” relates to one casement piece that forms the operable part of a window. This sash is attached to the frame by hinges that, depending on the opening type, are usually at the side but can also be at the bottom. The window is customisable in the sense that it can come in a very wide range of dimensions. In our configurator, for example, you will find the minimum and maximum ranges of structural possibilities where, with the help of our useful measuring guides, you can type in your specific dimensions. If further sizes are then required, double or triple sash windows with two or three operable pieces can alternatively be chosen, or a special request could be sent to our team for a unique solution.
Beyond the size, our windows can also come in a range of shapes to suit different building projects. These include elegant arches, round portholes, angular trapezoids, and more.
To provide versatile usability, our windows and French doors can be fixed or rather come with different opening systems. The most popular of these is the German tilt and turn mechanism. With this system, when the handle is turned 90° anticlockwise, the sash can be swung fully in on its side hinges for full airing and open views out.
If, however, the handle is turned 180° anticlockwise, the sash can rather be tilted inwardly ajar, which allows for a more subtle breeze. Beyond a full tilt and turn system we then offer other alternatives. These include a tilt-only variant as well as a space-saving vertical pivot possibility for standard round wooden windows.
At windows24.com you can really make your product your own thanks to a wide range of custom options in our configurator.
To further enhance energy efficiency, add soundproofing or privacy, improve safety and security, or modify design, a series of purpose-designed window glass types can be selected from, for example. Beyond this, a large palette of professionally applied decors and colour finishes can be chosen from alongside matching glazing bars, which all ensures that new or replacement windows and glass French doors perfectly fit the style of your new-build or renovation project. To complete the look and add to functional performance, different sills, exterior roller shutters, and further add-ons like a child safety open limiter can then also be supplied.
