Uw-Values of Vinyl (uPVC) Sliding Doors

Uw values are the determining parameters for the heat transfer coefficient of an entire sliding door or window. Thus, they provide information about the insulation properties of houses and the heating costs that may be avoided when installing a uPVC sliding door.

Saving the Environment while saving Money

The lower the heat transfer coefficient, the less energy that is lost – therefore, Uw values of uPVC sliding doors should ideally be as low as possible.

windows24.com offers the two durable high-quality uPVC chamber systems IDEAl and energeto, both using innovative designs and construction techniques for almost unparalleled thermal efficiency. Low energy consumption is not only an important factor in sliding door design since it counteracts rising energy prices.

Sustainable building design also helps protecting the environment. Because of this, the chamber systems IDEAL and energeto are available in various sizes, providing a range of possible Uw-values.

  • 5-chamber systems can achieve values between 1,3 and 0,87 W/(m2K)
  • a 6-chamber system allows for a coefficient of 1,2 up to 0,81W/(m2K)
  • energeto 8000ED can even provide a Uw value between 0,9 and 0,74 W/(m2K)

A thermally separated edge compound can be used to achieve optimal values for a uPVC door (the so-called “warm edge” as well as with special glazing types.

Efficient and sustainable heating in combination with the low Uw value of a uPVC sliding door allows for the right amount of heating while also lowering your heating bills in wintertime.
