Configure nowAt windows24.com French doors can come in virtually any colour, from neutral white to bright red tones or natural wooden varnishes. While lighter colours make spaces appear larger and brighter, darker shades set a contemporary accent and can add a sense of elegance.
Which colours are possible for your door depend on the frame material selected from our five options – uPVC, wood, aluminium, uPVC-aluminium, and wood-aluminium. With the largest range of RAL options, wooden windows have the widest colour palette to choose from. uPVC-aluminium, on the other hand, provides the most variety as contrasting or complementary colour finishes can be individually selected for the inside compared to the outside of the door.
RAL, a European colour management scheme classifies specific colours according to their exact, known shade based on its angle, lightness, and saturation in the colour wheel. Our French doors can be finished in one of these standard options or a special choice, such as those that are textured and look metallic.
For the interior of wood-alu doors or if a RAL colour is not selected for wooden doors, these products can be finished in a varnish. Depending on the timber type selected, the wood’s tone will be adjusted by the varnish, making it darker, redder, lighter etc. to achieve the desired look.
Many of our doors, such as those made from uPVC, can be finished in a timber or metallic decor. These highly authentic foils make it look like the frame is made from wood or metal, often both in terms of look and texture. The charm or style of these natural materials can be enjoyed while a modern uPVC core and its insulating advantages are retained beneath.
This overview shows which colours can be selected for each of our French door materials and whether a separate selection for the interior and exterior is possible or if the selected option is automatically applied to the entire frame.
All our colour and decor finishes are professionally applied during manufacturing via expert techniques. For aluminium, for example, the coating is applied using powder-coating, whereas for uPVC a high-temperature foiling process is used. This ensures:
All French door colour options can be browsed and selected in our user-friendly configurator. There, glazing bars can also be selected, which will come in a colour matching the frame. In addition, roller shutters can be added in a complementary or contrasting colour to add sun protection, privacy, and security. You can also find a wide range of different glazing options for enhanced break-in protection, insulation, soundproofing, and more, as well as sills and handles.
